Celebrity Honorees Announced<\/strong><\/p>\n

Beverly Hills, CA, October 5, 2011 \u2013 <\/em><\/strong>The Award Honorees were announced today for the 7^{th <\/sup>Annual LA Femme Film Festival 2011<\/strong>, <\/strong>October 13-16, 2011. \u201cEach year we have an amazing celebration of female entertainment leaders, and this year is especially close to my heart<\/strong>,\u201d said Leslie LaPage, founder\/director of this premiere festival which empowers women Producers, Writers, Directors and Actors in the entertainment industry. \u201cWe have finally broken through the glass
\nceiling into the age of the woman director,<\/strong>\u201d said LaPage.<\/p>\n}

LA Femme is excited to announce this year\u2019s festival Honorees. Jennifer Yuh Nelson<\/strong> (Director: Kung Fu Panda 2<\/em>) will receive the Maverick Award, presented by Melissa Cobb (Producer: Kung Fu Panda 2)<\/em>. Kung Fu Panda 2<\/em> is to date the highest worldwide box office grossing film directed by a Female Director. Patty Jenkins<\/strong>
\n(Director: Monster<\/em>) will receive the Visionary Award. Directing and penning the
\nfilm Monster<\/em> about the serial killer Aileen Wuomos garnered Charlize Theron an Academy Award in 2003. Jenkins is now in talks of directing Thor 2<\/em>. Lainie Kazan<\/strong> (Actress: My Big Fat Greek Wedding<\/em>) will receive the Thespian Award. Starring in over 100 notable projects from Broadway to Screen, Lainie has charmed audiences around the world with her singing, comedic style and dramatic talent. Tasha Smith<\/strong> (Actress: Why Did I Get Married?<\/em>) will receive the New Establishment Award. She has become a Tyler Perry favorite as well as wowing audience with her critically acclaimed role as Ronnie Boyce in HBO\u2019s \u201cThe Corner\u201d.<\/p>\n

LA Femme launches October 13th -16^{th<\/sup>, 2011, in Los Angeles screening over
\n100 films highlighting independent features, documentaries, shorts, music
\nvideos, commercials, seminars and much more.
\nThis year LA Femme is hosting a Musical Concert Fundraiser on October
\n15, 2011 \u2013 \u201cVMG presents LA Femme Unplugged\u201d \u2013 with musical artist Anna Nalick,
\nknown for her hit single \u201cBreathe (2 AM),\u201d and featuring Sykler Stonestreet
\nwith Madeline Sampson. Musical Concert begins at 6 pm with an \u201cA List\u201d After

The four day festival event in Los Angeles hosts special networking events at LA hot spots (The Next Door Lounge, The Falls, and the Bodega Wine Bar-Hollywood) and a gala Awards Ceremony attended by A-List celebrities and top industry executives as they walk the red carpet. Master of Ceremony is comedian Sandra Valls (Latina Divas of Comedy) and musical performer is Carmen Carter (Dancing with the Stars).<\/strong><\/p>\n
