Panels/Seminars

Every year we create a series of panels and seminars for our attendees. The panels are usually held on Saturday and Sunday and we host anywhere from four to five panels in any given year. These panels are the most amazing educational series and a must for any indie filmmaker wanted to navigate their project through the rough seas of financing and Hollywood.

This year we will be hosting 5 panels during the weekend. Come and meet the panelists and the get hard hitting information on getting your film into the hands of those that will make a difference.

The Seminar Panel Lineup for 2020

LA Femme International Film Festival 2020 Seminar Panels with experts in field offer a professional experience. Our seminars will not just be a look and listen but a fully interactive experience with attendees asking questions with video, audio and chat. (we offer all choices to those attending)

Seminars will be hosted ONLINE this year ONLY! We have a dynamic interactive seminars where you will learn and experience it as if you were live and on the ground.

Panel 1: SATURDAY OCTOBER 17, 10am-11:50am

Columbia College Presents: USING YOUR SHORT AS A PROOF OF CONCEPT TO GAIN EXPOSURE FOR YOUR FEATURE IN HOLLYWOOD

Stephens College Presents: Opening the Doors in Hollywood: Building Your team

An intimate talk with agents and managers who are currently seeking new clients and what they look for when you send in work to be represented in Hollywood. Q&A to follow.

Panel 3: SATURDAY OCTOBER 17, 2:00pm-4:30pm

PITCHING, WRITING AND CREATING A STORY THAT WILL SELL: What Hollywood is looking for in a pitch.

What makes a perfect pitch in the room? Learn to deliver the winning pitch. An expert panel of Producers and Development Executives who will reveal the process of pitching in Hollywood and current trends. Opportunities to the attendees to pitch their ideas with feedback. Q&A to follow.

Panel 4: SUNDAY OCTOBER 18, 10am-11:50 noon

WHAT DOES DISTRIBUTION LOOK LIKE FOR THE INDIE FILMMAKER: Getting your film sold, who is buying?

If you are an independent filmmaker, funding is hard but so is securing distribution. How to find and work with a distribution company and the current trends in distribution and splits with traditional vs online platforms.  Q & A to follow.

Panel 5: SUNDAY OCTOBER 18, 12noon -1:50pm

WGA Presents: WOMEN FUNDING WOMEN PROJECTS AND MORE…. from the Producer and Writers POV

The WGAW Committee of Women Writers hosts a special panel which will explore what content is being written and purchased now at the production companies. An intimate talk with Development Executives and WGA writers. Q&A to follow.

Panel 6: SUNDAY OCTOBER 18, 2pm-4:00pm
